| Customer: | Automotive Tier 1 | |||
| Need: | Customer had selected a supply base for a specific product | |||
| and vehicle platform. Cascade was requested to support | ||||
| the program by supplying the casting as a Tier 3 supplier. | ||||
| Solution Process: | A multi-company project team was set up to work with the | |||
| customer, assembly operation and finishing supplier. | ||||
| As a result of intial team meetings it became apparent that | ||||
| there were numerous logistics, packaging and potential | ||||
| quality issues due to frequent handling and travel of | ||||
| castings through the supply chain. | ||||
| Cascade proposed to eliminate the purchasing and logistics | ||||
| nightmare the customer was facing and take the | ||||
| responsibility of sourcing suppliers for the secondary | ||||
| operations and shiping the final product to the customer. | ||||
| Results: | The customer reduced their supply base responsibility | |||
| down to one versus four suppliers, thereby reducing their | ||||
| logistics and quality concerns. | ||||
| Cascade was selected as the single source full service | ||||
